I know you've heard me say this one million times, but I am so busy to the point where I'm honestly overwhelmed most days. I have a lot going on in my life that I haven't even filled y'all in on, and not because I don't want to share, rather I just have had zero time to sit down and write the post. We're talking MAJOR life changes, and I promise you I'll do an entire post update sooner rather than later. Pinky promise with cherries and whipped cream and rainbow sprinkles on top.
The beauty of running Dallas Love List is that we get to eat out often. That's all well and good (
and fun, I won't lie, who doesn't like eating?!?) , but I honestly cannot continue eating out every single night. Our wedding, which has felt like months and months and months from now, is inching closer and closer. I don't want to go on some crazy bride diet, but I'm not doing myself any favors by missing the gym each week and eating three course meals every single night. Fun, yes. Good for my waistline, most certainly not.

I really want to get back into cooking us meals more often. There for a while I would cook for CB and myself almost every night of the week. We were feeling good, both of us were working out and it was honestly really nice to be in a healthy routine like that. We both want to get back into that. Plus, we always watch Jeopardy and eat dinner together, and the DVR is overflowing with unwatched Jeopardy episodes and that's just sad. I mean, I'm missing countless questions on Shakespeare and geography that I'm completely incapable of answering.
Y'all, I know nothing about geography, it's real bad.
But that's neither here nor there.
When I was single, I'd just throw a frozen meal in the microwave and call it a day. I am NOT a cook, but I can certainly follow a recipe. When I first started dating CB, it was my first time cooking for someone else. I'd spend SO LONG combing through Pinterest recipes trying to find something healthy and easy to make. Some of the ingredient lists were so long that I had convinced myself that cooking was wayyyy more expensive (and tedious) than just eating a frozen tv dinner.
I just found out about this amazing new product called Tyson Tastemakers™ which is a meal kit, located in a ton of different Dallas retailers and grocery stores, like Walmart, Target, HEB, Kroger, Albertson’s Market and Tom Thumb, and includes everything you need to make a delicious and seasonal weeknight meal at home. You don't need to go shopping for ingredients, and you don't have to wait for a subscription box. For those of y'all not in Texas, additional Tyson Tastemakers™ meal kit varieties can be purchased through select markets via Amazon Fresh, Amazon Prime Now, and Jet.com for delivery to your home.
Various Tyson Tastemakers™ are only $19.99 and include 3 servings, and an easy to follow recipe card. I grabbed the Herbed Chicken and Farmstand Veggies with Garlic-Herb butter kit.
Almost instantly the garlic herb butter started filling the house with the most delectable aroma and CB and I just kept raving over how good it smelled. This particular kit only required ONE pan, which made cleaning it up easy too. These kits are located in the meat section, so you aren't dealing with frozen veggies, either.
The flavor was inanely good. It was as good as any elaborate meal I'd done from Pinterest, and required zero planning, and zero thinking. Seeing as you don't have to plan anything, and it tastes like a gourmet meal that you worked hours on, it can't be beat.
For all my Texas readers, you can find stores selling Tyson Tastemakers here!
Have you done any meal kits in the past?? I think my favorite part of the whole thing was that the majority of the prep was already done for you. I'd love to know what you think about them for weeknight meals in the comments below!
