I was asked by Carusele to participate in the #ApplyRepeatProtect campaign, sponsored by Walgreens. Although I have been compensated, all opinions are my own.
Back in the day, by day I mean college, I used to work SO HARD to get out in the sun and stay out in the sun. On Spring Break, I'd force myself to lay in the sun and soak up as much sun as humanly possible. I'm naturally very pale, and tanning does not come easily for me. What it really boils down to though, is I GET SO BORED LAYING OUT. Please tell me I'm not the only one.
I'd rather do literally anything than lay there. After about 30 minutes I end up checking my watch to see just how long it's been, thinking I've surely been out there for SEVERAL HOURS.
Is it marg time yet?
Is anyone else bored.
Does anyone want to go shopping?
Are we done yet?
I'd much rather be playing a game or doing something interactive than just laying there. So yeah, there you have it, I hate laying out. Always have, always will. Plus, about 5 years ago, I began to embrace the pale. I have absolutely no problem with blinding white legs. Thank goodness, because I do feel like being pale is trendy now. THANK GOODNESS! I knew this day would come, I just had to be patient.
One thing I absolutely NEVER do is go outside without sunscreen on. We play golf, or go to outdoor events on the weekends for Dallas Love List, and you will not catch me without sun protection. I'm going to get real AF with you guys, the worst thing in the world is when you burn your scalp and then have to deal with looking like you have horrendous dandruff for the next week and a half. SMH.
I've partnered with Walgreens today to tell you about how affordable the Walgreens brand suncare is. You've gotta wear sunscreen, might as well get a great value one it without sacrificing even a smidge of protection. I picked up a couple different kinds of suncare while I was in the store. The first is the Moisturizing sunscreen which has an SPF of 50 and is new this year. This sunscreen is Oxybenzone free, Paraben free, oil free and hypoallergenic. The second kind I picked up was the sheer dry touch with SPF 30 and a super lightweight feel.
And for the love of dogs you've gotta remember to protect your scalp. Sunburned dandruff scalp will not turn anyone on. I promise.
Does this smartwater make me look like Jennifer Aniston? I figured you'd say yes.
Dead ringer, I know.
I grabbed a 50 SPF and a 55 SPF. The more SPF, the merrier in my world. It's honestly a skill to keep my legs THAT PALE. I have to work hard at it. You probably see those legs and think it just comes easy for me. No way, I work HARD to stay this pale. It's a full time job, really.
Right now (through 8/26/2017) when you buy one smartwater and one Walgreens brand suncare item, you'll receive $1 off. This offer is good with your clip to card app and for Balance Rewards members. Plus, when you drink smartwater you'll be GUARANTEED to look just like Jennifer Aniston during the warehouse scene from We're the Millers.*
*Totally kidding. Fat chance.
Smartwater is great though, and so is protecting your skin, le duh. It's so great, that I'm going to be joining the #ApplyRepeatProtect Twitter party on August 17, 2017 from 8pm to 9pm EST. The major topic will be how I keep my legs as pale as possible the Summer how Walgreens brand suncare will help protect your skin against UV rays.
