A Crappy Post

What a LOVELY morning I've had thus far.
Truly charming.

What happened you ask?

I woke up exactly two minutes before my alarm was supposed to go off to the sound of a dog hacking. Nothing generally comes from that sound, so I usually disregard it. I shut my eyes and snuggled back in for my much needed additional two minutes.

The hacking continued.

Then I felt something wet on my leg. It was dog vom.

But wait Johnny, there's more........

It was cat poop, being reincarnated as dog vom, being regurgitated all over our bed. Then all over MY pillow. Then all over our rug. Then, finally, all over our backyard.

For those that don't know, CB has two cats. It was POURING rain last night and after he had scooped the litter boxes, he had set the bag of cat poop by the back door in an effort to wait for the rain to slow until he was able to take the cat poop out to the trash. Well, he forgot to to do so -- I probably would've too -- but Veenie was kind enough to take care of that cat poop for us. She's so thoughtful, right?!?!

Sick. Literally.

So that's how I woke up.
I guess you could say that I'm in a bit of a shitty mood now.

ASIDE from all that shit that went down (or up) this morning, CB and I had a phenomenal evening celebrating our anniversary last night. I posted one photo to snap before we left, and then signed off. I really wanted it to be just me and him all night, no phones. Plus, we were having dinner at a place in our neighborhood, Boulivardier, that we've been eying FOREVER, but never were able to justify the price tag. IT. WAS. AMAZING.

If you have something special to celebrate in Dallas, you need to go there. It was romantic, the service was perfect and the food (oysters, steak, bread budding, wine) was out of this world.

We only got 6 oysters, but all I wanted was to scream across the room at the server to, "Fill 'er up again!" When I'm rich, my diet will consist entirely of chardonnay and oysters, and that's about it. Perhaps throw in the occasional pizza hut or wedge salad.

Before I finish today with some photos from my outrageously good 4 day holiday weekend, I thought I'd ask if any of my Dallas friends are going to the blogger meetup at lululemon tonight?! I get super duper nervous for "networking" events, because I'm very shy. Painfully shy. I've already thought of 100 scenarios on how I could back out, but fact of the matter is I've gotta be brave and just go.

If you'll be there, let me know.
I'd for sure be put at ease knowing someone else who is going.

Now for some weekend snippets!

One of my best friends flew in from Knoxville with her husband this past weekend and it was everything I hoped the weekend would be and more. This was her first time meeting CB, and I'm pretty certain he got the seal off approval!

We started the weekend by strolling the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth.

Saturday we hit up the Deep Ellum Mimosa Walk, ate a delicious brunch at a new spot called Independent Bar and Kitchen and strolled through the Dallas Arts District.

 Panda, Panda, Panda, Panda....

Sunday we went to Margarita Meltdown and it was THE BEST EVER. No but really, if you haven't been, you need to go. Sample over 30 of the best Margaritas in Dallas. I think it was a group consensus that our favorite was the Champagne Marg from Savor. I also really surprised myself at home much I really liked that spicier margaritas.
