Joining a sorority is a dirty rotten trick. Before you jump all over me for that statement, hear me out. When I went to college, I was scared but of course super excited to finally get the chance to live on my own without any rules. I was attending an out-of-state school where I didn't know a soul, and ended up feeling overwhelmed and very homesick within my first few days of arriving. In an effort to make friends and squash that feeling of loneliness, I joined a sorority, Pi Beta Phi. Upon joining Pi Phi, I went from having zero friends to 140 amazing friends in a matter of minutes after receiving my bid. Over the course of 4 years, I developed deep, meaningful and lifelong friendships with my sisters. 

Here's the dirty rotten trick though....

After 4 years of spending every waking hour with your best girlfriends, everyone moves away to different locations all over the country after graduation. No fair!!! Although those friendships you've built never fade, your best girlfriends are now scattered several plane rides away.... or in my case, North Carolina, Tennessee and Louisiana.
