How To Host a Wine and Cheese Party

You guyssssss, we're having so much fun getting to have friends over to the new house! Last week we had Helene and Michael over for one last hoorah. I cooked dinner for someone other than CB for the first time ever, and I didn't have a panic attack. Heck, I was even able to socialize a bit! Unfortunately we didn't take any pictures to document this monumental occasion, because I'm not even sure why.
As a bit of an update from this home tour post, we broke down and decided to make that back room a dining room and the front room a living room. I found the most amazing deal on a dining room table at World Market, that we just couldn't pass up. For the record, if I'm ever lost you should check World Market, I'm probably elbows deep in their cocktail accessories.
Thus far, the dining room is proving its worth. Last night I invited some girlfriends over who just now happen to be our neighbors! Two different friends of ours actually bought houses in our hood about a month before we did. We've vowed to do several monthly get togethers at each other's houses, so this week I hosted a wine and cheese party for the girls, with the intention of watching the last two episodes of Sex and the City.
I paired the cheeses with two Caposaldo wines, their Pinot Grigio and their Sweet Moscato, both perfect for a laid back girl's night. I chose two white wines because it is hotter than a snakes butt in a wagon rut (I don't know what that means) outside. I kid you not, the outdoor temperature reading in my car said it was 115 degrees on Monday. ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTEEN DEGREES PEOPLE.
Caposaldo Wines blend a handcrafted, artisanal approach to winemaking with cutting-edge quality standards and techniques, so that it stands as a benchmark of iconic Italian wines. I picked different cheeses that would work well with each type of wine I chose. The Blue and Cheddar cheese, as well as the pistachios, pair will with the bubbly Sweet Moscato. The gouda, brie and chèvre (goat cheese) pairing with the dry, crisp Pinot Grigio.
I actually was able to get the different cheeses at my local grocery store, all adding up to less than $30!
Caposaldo wines are available nationwide, in a variety of both still and sparkling wines, and are very affordable. I think their Prosecco would have been a phenomenal addition to girl's night too! Be sure to check out both their Facebook page and website for more information and to find out where you can snag some in your area.
