An Announcement Regarding an Announcement
You guys know those posts where people make an announcement, but then never tell you what the announcement is? An announcement revealing the most game changing news of their life... but you can't see it or taste it or touch it or feel it yet, you just have to wait.
So you get so damn wrapped up in trying to figure out what the heck the announcement is that you go full stalker mode. You run, don't walk, to their Instagram and scroll through for hidden messages you may have missed reflected in mirrored sunglasses or buried in the background of a selfie. When that search falls short, in the rare event you happen to be their Facebook friend, you dash over to their personal Facebook page hoping to find VIP insider information, but nothing is there either. Then you feel a little embarrassed that you even care that much about someone you've never actually met in real life, but check their twitter just to be 100% sure you crossed your t's and dotted your i's trying to solve the mystery.
Well this is one of those posts. I have an announcement that I'm not going to tell you.
I'm not going to tell you because I'm just not ready yet. For the first time, just this weekend, I understood the allure of the vague, secretive announcements. When something wonderful happens but you're just not quite ready to spill the beans, how can you possibly contain your excitement?
And yes, I'm totally that girl that buys a present months in advance and calls the person to tell them, "I got you THE. BEST. PRESENT. EVER.... but I'm not going to tell you what it is and I'll probably remind you every day how excited I am to give you the present several months from now."
I'm trying to think of something that has happened to me that is more exciting than this news, and I'm drawing a blank. I'm sorry I'm not ready to tell just yet, I hope that is ok. Also, I'm sorry I've taken up valuable time on your Monday to tell you absolutely nothing, essentially. So here are some pictures that I feel will have made it worth while for you to have clicked on my blog today.
The announcement is not of the human variety. So go ahead and stop looking for a baby bump in my Instagram feed, that's just Pizza Hut you're seeing.
Plus, that's just rude and hurts my feelings :(
