Thanks to Barnes & Noble and Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 NOOK for sponsoring today's discussion
I'll admit it... I read 50 Shades of Grey. Well, let me step back for a minute.
I purchased a physical copy of the book a few years ago at a second hand book store (yeah yeah yeah, I know, 1984 called and want their way of reading back) and brought the book on a plane with me. I was headed to see my mom in VA Beach. As I was middle-seat sandwiched between a well-dressed older business man, and a younger, probably mid-twenties jock dressed head to toe in an Adidas swishy jump suit... I pulled out my very well worn second hand copy of 50 Shades of Grey and flipped to page one.
I then felt a tap on my shoulder from the business man who said, "My wife read that. She told me allllll about it. Quite the steamy page turner, huh? Don't breathe too loud on us poor guys over here, I see you've read this one a few times before."
He thought he was being hilarious, and was clearly light-heartedly joking with me. Meanwhile, in Sarah land, I then died. Dead. Death. To continue the basic girl series of words... I literally couldn't even.
I awkwardly chuckled as my hand darted, faster than you can say secure your breathing mask, to my copy of the Sky Mall. I never took the book out of my backpack again. Heck, I think it is still in that pink Jansport shoved in the back of my closet.
Ok but, I still wanted to read the book.... in the privacy of my own home....where I don't have to stress over the volume at which I read....
Enter the new Samsung Galaxy Tab® 4 NOOK® which allowed me to read everything from 50 Shades of Grey, to Cosmo Magazine on its 7 inch brilliant HD display... without Snoopy McSnooperson business man having any idea what novel or publication I'm holding in the palm of my hands!
Last night, I started The Fault In Our Stars!
The new NOOK by Samsung comes in both white and black color options. With customizable NOOK Profiles, every member of the family (even Gee and Veenie if they ever learn to read) can create their own immersive reading experience. My favorite part of the tablet is just that, it is a fully-functioning tablet including front and rear cameras, web surfing and GPS.
With Samsung’s Multi Window innovation, you can even use more than one app simultaneously. Plus all NOOK content is safely stored in the NOOK Cloud, so books, magazines and newspapers can be accessed across all NOOK devices, as well as on PCs and mobile devices using the Free NOOK Reading Apps for Android, iOS and Windows 8.1. Barnes & Noble also syncs every last page read across all NOOK devices and apps, so readers can seamlessly pick up right where they left off on all connected devices.
You can visit your local Barnes & Noble to experience the new Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 NOOK firsthand, receive complimentary, personal NOOK support, take advantage of a full calendar of popular NOOK events, including NOOK Night workshops, family Storytimes, book discussion groups and author signings.
The new NOOK by Samsung is just $169.99 after a $30 instant rebate and comes with more than $200 in free reading and entertainment content.

I liked this post! Also, my favorite feature is that you can add a memory card for more storage!!
ReplyDeleteOoh, I like that it has both front and back cameras too! (And I liked the post on Bloglovin')
ReplyDeleteMy favorite feature is that you can use two apps at once with our Multi Window feature2. I liked the post on Bloglovin.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite feature is that is does more than just stream online books.. I have a Kindle and I always forget to take it with me because it doesn't do anything besides hold online books.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I liked it on Bloglovin le duh.
Awesome giveaway! I liked on BL.
ReplyDeleteSo many great features! I like that it allows for personal profiles and parental control so I can share with my daughter.
I like that you can expand the memory because with some readers you can't and deleting books isn't fun! (I also liked this page on BlogLovin!)
ReplyDeleteThis is such an awesome giveaway!! Liked the post on Bloglovin' And I think my favorite feature might be that you can have different profiles because this means this would be something that I could share with my husband and we wouldn't necessarily need two tablets. Sure sharing might be a problem if we both want to use it at the same time, but I definitely like that the option is there.
ReplyDeleteAlso, how are you liking "The Fault in Our Stars"? I just did a book review on it on my blog... so curious how you are finding it...
I liked the post on Bloglovin'! And my favorite feature is the expandable memory & front/back cameras. Hello Skype! Lol
ReplyDeletecinnabubbles[at]gmail[dot]com
first, i love all these pics of you reading. too cute.
ReplyDeletei liked it on bloglovin! fave feature would be that it includes $200 worth of free content. that is a win win! i also really like the size!
Seems like everyone else I love that front/back cameras, size of it (dirty), and the expandable memory. Liked on bloglovin.
ReplyDeleteAside though from the whole giveaway thing, I do have to say rather impressive that Veenie left the entire tray of yummie things alone plus sat still enough for all the pics. I can only imagine the outtakes from this. I think I will take this post and show my little jack how a good boy behaves. :)
that you can add a microSD card for more storage. thank you for the chance to win.

I love that it has a camera! And I liked it on bloglovin!
ReplyDeleteI really like the multi window feature. How neat. I also liked this on bloglovin!
ReplyDeleteI love the front/back camera feature! (and I liked it on bloglovin!)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that you can serf the web too. It's more than just an ereader. I have a question though. I have a (relatively old) kindle. If I were to get the new nook, I can't transfer my kindle books over, can I? Probably not. (Sad face)
ReplyDeleteI love the camera feature, my old Nook doesn't have that so this would be great to take pictures with. Liked the post on BlogLovin ;)!
ReplyDeleteI love the personal profiles!! That way my husband and I can share without him teasing me about the romances I love! I also liked the post on BlogLovin!!
ReplyDeleteI love the that you can access two apps at once, multi-tasking at its finest! The display is beautiful and the size is wonderful. Oh, and I liked your post on BlogLovin!
ReplyDeleteI totally love that I can use the internet on it, and that I can add an SD card. I feel like I'm constantly running out of space on my electronics. lol Oh, and I liked this on Bloglovin. :)
ReplyDeleteYou can watch videos AND read your books on it!
ReplyDeleteAnd I liked this post via bloglovin...your 50 shades story is awesome!

I love the personal profiles for each family member! Great way to keep everything separate.
ReplyDeleteI liked your post on Bloglovin'!
Email and web browsing of course!
ReplyDeleteI've had several B&N Nooks over the years. I love that it supports Microsoft Office!
ReplyDeleteI love that there is free NOOK Cloud™ Storage, cause we all know the cloud is good for something...we're just not exactly sure what ;) Also, I liked your Bloglovin' post too! Thanks for the giveaway :) xoxo, ganeeban
ReplyDeleteMulti-window mode. Never enough windows! And favoriting you on bloglovin!
ReplyDeleteI love the book lending & borrowing feature! Sharing is caring! I also liked your post via bloglovin'!
ReplyDelete(Sorry if my comment shows up twice - google told me to sign in…but I don't see my previous attempt at posting a comment…so…here goes nothing!)
I love how you can share books with others! Also liked the bloglovin post :)
ReplyDeleteI love the email/web browsing feature. It is such a pain to check out blogs on my phone when I'm not near a computer and this would be the perfect device to do that on! Obviously, I liked this on Bloglovin ;)
ReplyDeleteI love the book lending feature - that's how my friends and I get new books, from each other! (I also liked this on Bloglovin) :)
ReplyDeleteI think it's pretty cool you can multitask with multi window! That's got to be my favorite! Ps- I liked this on Bloglovin ;)
ReplyDeleteThe NOOK Profiles would be great for me and my husband so that we could share the NOOK but still have it be our own. I liked the post on Bloglovin!
ReplyDeleteThe multi-window feature is clutch! I am SO hoping I win this because it would make such a great gift for Dane's 30th/Christmas! Crossing my fingers :)
ReplyDeleteI just like the idea of being able to do everything in one place and have it not be my phone. I feel like I do everything on my tiny little screen and it just makes me look rude! I like the option of reading on a digital item without being seen as the girl always on the phone. (liked the entry!)
ReplyDeleteI have a little Nook right now but I really like how you can surf the web on this one. I always hate it when I'm reading and I hear a ding on my phone/computer that I got an email so I then have to pick up another device to see the email. I liked the post of bloglovin!
ReplyDeletePlus - Veenie looks super cute in the second picture!
Post liked! :) I think the personal profiles would be a great feature to have - my husband could do his required reading for class and I could read something fun on mine and not get them mixed up :)
ReplyDeleteI like that you can set up profiles for each user. This way my kids don't have to see my books and I don't have to see theirs :)
ReplyDeleteI liked the post on Bloglovin :) Also, my favorite attribute is that it's got parental controls. I think this is important when you've got a teen or a tween. I need to be able to keep an eye on what he's doing these days!
ReplyDeleteLOVED this post! And I am also a huge fan of my nook :) I almost dying laughing from your experience on the plane with 50 shades!! I bought the book at a book store right across my terminal whenever Oprah released it as a "must read" and when I was on the plane, an older man sitting next to me said "My wife loves that book." And smiled at me (so creepy.) Without missing a beat I replied to him "And you loved the increased amount sex from her?" HAHAHAHA He blushed so hard and never spoke to me again on the 4hr flight ;)

I love Galaxy products! My tablet and phone are both Galaxies. Also, you started tfios? Lemme know how that goes. We can talk about our feels. lol. But seriously.
ReplyDeleteI love my Nook Color, but it's not a tablet. I would love to have the cameras as an option.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I liked this post on Bloglovin. :-)
Well, I love to read, so I'd like the $200 free content! ;)
ReplyDeleteI love that you can browse the web from the Nook! I have the first version of the Kindle and it seems almost prehistoric now. I liked this post on Bloglovin!
ReplyDeleteHahaha I was reading the 2nd book in the series in line somewhere and this housewife came up to me (with her kids in tow) and whispers about how much she loved the whole series. I definitely could have used one of these! I love that you get sample books for free because I'm always looking for new reading material. Also I liked this post on Bloglovin!
ReplyDelete~Elise @ highheelsglitteringeyes.blogspot.com
With 2 little kiddos always stealing my things, I think I would like the parental control settings the best! And, of course, the expandable memory- always a great feature to have. I liked this post on Bloglovin!
ReplyDeleteLiked via bloglovin'. Also love that it has parental controls fort crazy 2 year old and built in gps!
ReplyDeleteliked on bloglovin'
ReplyDeletelove the front and back camera, what what!

ReplyDeleteI liked the post on bloglovin <3
ReplyDeleteI love that there are user profiles!
ReplyDeleteAlso, what a creepy dude. Gross.
(I liked the post)
That it has a front and back camera and I can hear of a book and get it then and now and enjoy it!
ReplyDeletemy favorite feature is the expanded memory!! It would definitely fit my life!
ReplyDeleteliked this post on bloglovin too!
I love that this the new nook has expandable memory so I don't have to keep redownloading things! I like the post on Bloglovin' too!
ReplyDeleteI like that it has expandable memory with optional microSD™ memory card, up to 32GB
ReplyDeleteI liked the post on Bloglovin - ellen casper
ReplyDeleteRead Nook in B&N stores has been one of my favorite features for a long time! so great to snuggle up in starbucks and read for an hour! Liked the post on bloglovin - Laura Toeniskoetter!
ReplyDeleteI love the personal profiles for each family member so we can share the one device but have our own stuff. Liked on bloglovin too!
ReplyDeleteLove having seamless access to Chrome and Gmail! Liked on Bloglovin!
ReplyDeleteI love the front and back cameras, the fact I can sync it to my other Samsung devices, and multiple accounts! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteOK, so clearly the front and rear facing cameras are a plus.....#selfie. But I'm sure the built in GPS is probably the best. I have an old kindle and I keep it in my purse but it doesn't help me when I'm trying to get somewhere. I always have my phone, but we all know how "responsible" I am....so it's never fully charged. This would be an awesome upgrade to my kindle. OOO and I like the syncing, too! It's so complicated to have so many devices. OH! and I liked the post on bloglovin!!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of being able to read a book or two or three without having to carry around all those heavy books! #PoorCollegeStudentProbs
ReplyDeleteI need to finish Fault in our Stars! I wanna see the movie too.
ReplyDeleteI like the feature of having family profiles and also watching TV/movies {Liked on Bloglovin'}
That movie was good. I haven't read the book though. Multiple books all in one is a plus! The customization of it all-from personal profiles, to fonts, etc is my favorite part. :)
ReplyDeleteI love love love that you can surf the web! I could not live with just an Ereader!
ReplyDeleteI really wanted to see the movie for fault in our stars and I am considering reading the book. maybe if I win I will! :)
Thanks so much for this!
The doggies are behaving so well! :)
oh and I liked on bloglovin as cstone412
DeleteI love that it's such an easy and quick way to access things on the internet and use apps, as well as browse through a magazine or read a book while I'm waiting somewhere.
ReplyDeleteI like the Built-in GPS. I also liked the post on bloglovin.
ReplyDeleteGPS! I can't find my way out of anywhere, so an extra device w/ GPS is always welcome!
ReplyDeleteFree book samples! :)
ReplyDeleteI love everything about this. I plan to read and have some me time when my husband finally gets to come home. And my kids can play on it too I suppose ;)
ReplyDeleteOh and liking the post on Bloglovin!
DeleteI like that it is multifunctional!
ReplyDeleteAlso liked on Bloglovin'!
ReplyDeleteI love the built in gps and I liked the post on bloglovin as AmandaSakovitz

The best part for me would that I could load up a bunch of books to read while I'm traveling, but they would all be in this light, portable, easy to use device instead of me lugging books with me!
ReplyDeleteI love the fact that you can have separate profiles for each family member! Also, I liked the post on Bloglovin' :)
ReplyDeleteLovely post. I love the fact that you get $200 worth of free content to start.
ReplyDeleteHow awesome!! I love that you can watch video for 10 hours - so cool! I also liked this post on Bloglovin!
ReplyDeleteBorrowing and lending is awesome! I also love that it is just like a tablet, so you can avoid doubling up on tech!
ReplyDeletei love that it comes in a smaller size. it's more convenient to take places with you, because i was that nerd that carried a book in her purse and my current tablet is too big to fit!! (and it's old) i also love that you can use two different apps at once! what's a girl without multi-tasking! :) and i liked this on bloglovin'!
ReplyDeleteLove the fact that it is lightweight ... Especially for traveling! Books can be heavy and bundlesome! Found you and liked through Bloglovin'!
ReplyDeleteI like the Front- and rear-facing cameras

ReplyDeleteP.s. I liked the post on bloglovin, I'm Ember Darling on there. I think this was the first post I ever liked! haha
I love that you can expand the memory with a SD card. I'm also lng the profiles feature. That way I can have my profile with my settings and books and if the kiddos want to use it they have theirs.

ReplyDeleteI like that you can expand memory with a memory card. I liked this post in bloglovin.
ReplyDeleteI love the feature of being able to choose the size of your SD card instead of having a set size. This can get frustrating with a iPad bc you just have to start deleting things or backing up.
