You may not know this about me but I love love love doing hair. There is something very therapeutic to me about sitting down on a Thursday night before the weekend kicks off, with a glass of vino, a blow drier and a curling iron heating up.
My favorite way to style my hair is the beachy wave. But here is the problem with my hair, it looks like this after air-drying....
So needless to say it takes some time and patience for me to get soft, "effortless" (hah) beachy curls. To get the hair styles I love, I first blowdry my hair straight, then flat iron, then curl. Total styling time is usually an hour to an hour and a half. So I'm always looking for any possible way to cut that time down.
I recently went to Walmart and bought the Infiniti Pro by Conair® 3Q™ Brushless Motor Dryer and the Infiniti Pro by Conair® Curl Secret®. The Pro 3Q Blow Dryer reduces drying time by up to 70% with lower temperature and faster airflow to minimize heat damage. And the Curl Secret? Well that literally does all the work for you. It is so cool to see in action! I also grabbed a paddle brush and a 90 pack of bobby pins while I was there!

So with my new goodies I thought I'd show you some of the styles I came up with for the holiday parties I'm attending this year!
This hairstyle is seriously so easy. Just place an elastic headband either pulled back about one inch into your hair, or like I did, pulled down a little lower on your forehead for a more bohemian vibe. Then you just take two inch sections and tuck each section under the elastic band so that the ends stick out. Repeat this all the way around your head.
I'm not kidding, this took two minutes. I personally liked it a little messier, so the faster I whipped and tucked, the better it looked!
Oh hey easy peasy....
I just pulled my hair part up and secured it with an elastic. I then pulled about one inch of hair from the ponytail and wrapped it so it covered the elastic. I then secured underneath with a bobby pin. The bobby pin also gave the pony tail a bit more height! This preppy, feminine look would be nice for a work holiday party!
Leaving the front section of hair out, braid about a one inch section of your hair on each side. Pull back those front pieces you left out, place over the top of your braids and secure with with bobby pins.
Or, if you're like me, the basic everyday curls from the Curl Secret are perfect by themselves! This is how I wore my hair for Friendsgiving this weekend!
I have a trick that will change your hair curling routine!! I shake out the curls in the back of my hair, but NEVER TOUCH THEM IN THE FRONT. The front falls out so much faster than the back, so this keeps them intact a lot longer! Don't listen when people tell you to shake out your whole head, don't do it girl!
Your hair, sounds and looks exactly like mine if I blow dry without using a brush. My hair is what I call an 80's Perm gone wrong - with the way it does a wavy, half ass curl. I will usually round brush my hair while blow drying it straight, flat iron to get ride of kinks, and like you said THEN curl if I want it curly... it takes forever + one day. That curling machine looks awesome.... I might have to try it out and I SO need a new hair dryer!!!
ReplyDeleteI think your hair looks great when it air dries! I love the more elaborate styles too though xo
ReplyDeleteThose curls are perfect! I can never get mine to look that good, maybe I'll have to try your technique!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for my hair to grow out a little longer so that I can do some fun things with it again. I've liked having it short, but I'm ready for something a little longer.
ReplyDeleteI tried this and it didn't eat my hair! Don't you love how quick that thing works!? Your hair looks fab!
ReplyDeleteyour hair looks great
ReplyDeleteYour hair is beautiful. Ugh. Super jealous and love style #3. So pretty and simple!
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty curious about that curl secret thing. I struggle with curling my hair!
ReplyDeleteThese are some awesome looks you shared and I'm a huge fan of the princess roll that you did. It literally changed my fancy hair game 100000% and made me look like a hair master even though I can barely wield a bobby pin without stabbing myself in the eye.
ReplyDeleteUmmm...why can't I get those kind of loose waves like yours?! Love them! And that half up braid style is adorable!!
ReplyDeleteI have seen a few you tube videos of those curlying thingy's!
ReplyDeleteDid it scare you!? Some people used it so well, some people made me scared haha
I love the one with the plats in the front :)

I have the Curl Pro and LOVE IT! I'm seriously handicapped when it comes to curling my hair and thanks to this crazy contraption, I don't have to stress anymore!
ReplyDeleteLove the tuck looked. I just have a hard time since my hair is so fine and layered keeping it all up there and looking neat.
ReplyDeleteOk your hair is amazing! I may need to try some of these styles!

Ah they all look so cute!
ReplyDeleteLOVE these looks! And I'm so jealous that you can flat iron before your curl.
ReplyDeleteYou so fancy! I'm glad that Curl Pro didn't eat your head like it almost did mine. I'm terrified of trying anything new on my hair ever again after the incident I had.
ReplyDeleteI actually like your hair straight out of the shower! You have great texture.

Your hair is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI have to say that your air dried hair is the PERFECT messy wave!! I'm not just saying that to be nice either because I have straight hair with a random wave and I look homeless when my hair air dries! I need to try that tuck thing, but I would probably screw it up!
ReplyDeleteYour hair is so pretty! I actually love how it looks air dried! That curl secret tool is intriguing, would love to try that!
ReplyDeleteHA! Just yesterday I searched Pinterest for no heat curls and settled on trying your Look One version (from someone else's blog). I also read that it can be a two-day look, wearing it up for the first day, and letting the curls fall naturally on the second day. Seeing as how I HATE the hassle of washing my hair, anything that will delay washing and look presentable is a win in my book. Currently I'm trying to resist taking out the headband to see the curls, in hopes that I can make this "look" work for as long as possible!
ReplyDeleteDuring this time of year, I must admit that this is a blessing of a post. I was on Pinterest for a bit scouring for hair ideas. This time of year is so much fun.. trying to find a out of ordinary hair style and look..!
ReplyDeleteI think the high pony is my favorite...so cute!
