That Just Seems Wrong...
I constantly scroll Pinterest and see all sorts of different things, from DIY projects to healthy recipes and I just sit there and say to myself, "That Just Seems Wrong." So I decided to make a new segment on the blog where I try and recreate something on Pinterest I've seen that just seems wrong.
Side note: It should be noted that I have zero culinary skills, nor do I have any DIY skills (yes, Sarah we all know this). Take, for example, that time I tried to make these melting snowman cookies...
So perhaps I'm not the best person to experiment with the "That Just Seems Wrong" recipes and crafts on Pinterest... but as I've said 12 billion times, this is my blog and I get to make sad snowman cookies if I want to, dang it.
So without further delay.... Enter, exhibit A: The Cauliflower Pizza....
The Cauliflower Pizza can be found all over Pinterest, but I'm using this recipe which I picked because she had a pretty blog. (naturally)
So, Pinterest people, you want to put my boyfriend in the form of cauliflower? I don't know about this. That just seems wrong.
So here is a picture of my boyfriend, jk I'm so out of cauliflower's league it isn't even funny the other girl's cauliflower finished pizza... Not bad looking right?
So how did mine come out? No filters have been used for your viewing pleasure....
Sooo yeah.
That just seems wrong.
And it is wrong.
Cauliflower + Pizza = the greatest tragedy of our time.
If there is something you've seen on Pinterest and thought... "Man, That Just Seems Wrong" leave me a comment and I'll try and recreate it for the next segment!
I HATE it when people say "Oh, it tastes just like the real thing!" about anything cauliflower related. No, it doesn't. If you think that, your tastebuds are broken. It might taste okay, or even good in some cases (the cauliflower "mashed potatoes" wasn't bad), but it DOES NOT taste like the real thing.
ReplyDeleteMy pick would actually be your pick too. Cauliflower pizza and also cauliflower mashed potatoes...they just both seem so wrong.
ReplyDeleteBAHAHAHAHAHA yes yes. the sexual pizza pics are my fave. Sorry aboutcha cauliflower pizza, you ain't cutting it.
ReplyDeleteThat is hilarious haha. Did it end up tasting ok at least??
ReplyDeleteI think the 6 jalapenos probably meant 6 of them cut up, not 6 slices lol.
Love this idea! If I find any good ones for you, I'll let you know!
That is one sexy looking pizza right there! So, besides the way it looks...how was the actual taste? I don't believe for a second that it tasted like real pizza. Or had the consistency as such!
ReplyDeleteI had a big rant on Twitter once about how cauliflower is the ultimate imposter (that fails at everything it tries to imitate). It is not pizza crust. It is not mashed potatoes. You can't cover them in buffalo sauce and call them wings. Boo on you, cauliflower. Stay true to your vegetable self.
ReplyDeleteThis is great! I see things all the time and think that seems wrong, and definitely struggle with recreating things on pinterest! First world problems right here. . . . my tissue paper garland look like they've been struck by lightning!
ReplyDeleteThe sexual pizza pic by far the best pic you made me laugh so hard. I wanted to try it that recipe now for some reason I just changed my mind lol.

ReplyDeleteHaha, I love Pinterest "fails." I've also considered making this, and now I know not to try. Unless it looked horrible but was actually quite delicious?

Ugh! I have a hard time just getting my mind around this "cauliflower" pizza crust...Bravo to you for actually making and eating it..
ReplyDeleteMy snow globe pinterest experiments were a FAIL, fyi, even though people say it's the easiest thing out there.. Ah well...
Zoya.

Ohh, you attempted those cookies... I have them pinned and have thought a dozen times about making them but I just know I'd screw them up!!
ReplyDeleteHahahah that looks disgusting!!!
ReplyDeleteUgh, I would just have so much hope that it tasted like real pizza that I would cry after I tasted it. Pizza Hut, please.
ReplyDeleteSeriously...what happened?!? hahahha...this is so awesome, because it's something I would totally do! I am still laughing...sorry...I hope you are too ;)
ReplyDeleteOk I actually LOVE cauliflower crust but I will tell you that it won't taste right unless you have a pizza stone. The metal pizza trays just won't let it get hot enough and your crust will be soggy. I hate things that are supposed to be the healthified version of something else and actually LOVE cauliflower crust, but you GOTTA get all the water out, you GOTTA use a pizza stone which means it takes WAY too much work.
ReplyDeleteI've made some delicious cauliflower pizza although I'll admit not nearly as good as the real thing. We do it here though because the hubs is low carb for a little while. He likes to get his carbs from beer instead haha.
ReplyDeleteI tried a cauliflower pizza too and it didn't work out! But then, I've had one made by a friend and hers was delicious and not soggy! I guess I'll just do her favors and have her make me some!
ReplyDeleteOh this is too funny! It is so true too... I've never attempted to the cauliflower crust and I don't intend to... Instead like any decent person I'll order my pizza from Roundtable and call it a day..

I literally can't.... just ew.
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to try this, but thank you for sparing me!
ReplyDeleteI have the "that just seems wrong" thought pretty much every time I get on Pinterest! So many great ideas on there, but also so many "ummm, what???" ideas too!
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of the time I tried to replace pasta with spaghetti squash. Just give me the carb loaded pasta..
ReplyDeleteI just look at those photos on Pinterest and I'm like there is NO way that crust is made out of cauliflower. I think they're cheating.
ReplyDeleteHahaha I am loving the attempt on the pizza. Disaster in the kitchen or what? At least it was tried, I'm pretty intrigued to try making one myself!

OMG I just did something similar! I made this amazing sounding caprese dip with breadsticks. Only I couldn't find pillsbury breadstick dough, so I got crescent rolls and made them into breadsticks. Well, I tried to. And the recipe said to bake for 15 mins, and it needed about 45, given that it was all barely melted together and ended up just being warm tomatoes and cheese that we had to eat with a fork and knife because the breadsticks were um crescent rolls?
ReplyDeleteHaha basically sums up how I feel I attempt a Pinterest recipe!
ReplyDeleteOMG so I tried to do this too and it turned out exactly like yours did. I can't even recall the taste without wanting to gag!
ReplyDeleteThis shit just made my day! #NailedIt might be one of my favorite hash tags ever! Love when Pinterest idea's go awry! xoxo, ganeeban
ReplyDeletehahaha this is an amazing fail though!
ReplyDeleteThis is hilarious. Too bad it didn't work out. It looks good. Maybe adding breadcrumbs would help give is some crust-like strength.
ReplyDelete"That's one sexual pizza."
ReplyDelete^ That should be a hashtag. ^
Wow, this made me laugh!! Pizza should never have the word cauliflower associated with it!
ReplyDeleteA+ for effort!
Got one for ya, I have tried the watermelon baby buggy and it was Ok but this one seemed all you.http://www.pinterest.com/pin/136867276149950659/
ReplyDeleteI recently made the recipe rehab "cauliflower mac and cheese". It wasn't half bad, and there was still cheese in it.
ReplyDelete"that's one sexy pizza" I am dying.
ReplyDeleteMine turned out well whenever I made it last year, lol. It definitely didn't taste the same as the real thing though! There can never, never be a replacement for goold ol' greasy pizza ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm unsure whether to laugh or cry, so I'm doing both. I'm going to stick to good ole regular carb-filled pizza.
ReplyDeleteApple pies in the apple. Quite possibly the worst thing I have ever made in the history of ever. Including pizza made from Playdough.
ReplyDeletehahaha I'm pretty sure if I tried any of the million recipes that I pinned on Pinterest it would turn out like this. They make it look so good in the pictures!!
ReplyDeleteThis is hysterical! I had the same issue with coconut wreath cookies for my friend's cookie party over Christmas!
ReplyDeleteLaughing so hard right now. I can't wait for the next segment.
ReplyDeleteLooks like my cooking
ReplyDeleteIt looks like someone made love to that pizza and then you took a picture of it. lol That DOES seem wrong. The important question is.. did it at least taste okay??
ReplyDeleteYeeea...that seems about right! lol
