A Little R and R

If anyone sees Veenie and General before I do today, will you please tell them that I will not be traveling again any time soon, nor will they have to go back to the kennel anytime in the distant future. Those poor babies probably think I hate them, shipping them off to doggie prison. I hope when I arrive today to pick them up, specialty doggie treats in hand, they can find it in their hearts to forgive me.

Veenie will be easy to win back over, you just say Veenie! and she is putty in your hands. General may take some convincing. Perhaps I should bring him flowers? Or a dead squirrel? Something to give as a token of my sincerest apologies for being the worst mom ever. Perhaps a trip to Mutts is in order this afternoon?

I had two vacation days from work on Thursday and Friday this past week, so Wednesday night I kicked off vaca with a trip to see the worst team in baseball, the Texas Rangers! I'll have you know, they won that game, beating the Yankees. Maybe I'm not jinxed after all!

The next morning, I flew to Charlotte to see one of my best friends and college roommate, Magen! Yes, she has a blog... go read and follow right meow! We ordered takeout, put our PJs on and watched the best girl power movie evahhh, The Other Woman. Seriously, this was the cutest movie I've seen in a long time, I totally recommend. Also, I tried fitting Magen's couch in my carry on, but no such luck in getting the suitcase to zip. I guess I'll have to find my own "pod" here in Dallas...

Magen had to work that Friday morning, but just for half a day. After my first Dean and Deluca experience for lunch, we hit the road to Figure Eight, which is right near Wilmington! I of course picked up a North Carolina road trip necessity...

The weather was not our friend this weekend... check out our radar. Whomp whomp whomp...

So we spent our time lounging around inside, watching television and taking some indoor, rain-free selfies, before getting gussied up for dinner!

Can we discuss this homemade blueberry ice cream? Holy toledo. Also, I had steak two nights in a row. Magen pointed out that I really was becoming a Texan.

After the most blissfully relaxing weekend, we headed back to Charlotte on Sunday and Magen dropped me off at the airport.

There was someone waiting for me in Dallas though, that made it a little bit easier saying goodbye to my bestie. And for the record, it isn't General and Veenie I'm talking about. Yes, that is all the information you're getting right now. Insert giant grinning emoji here.
