Beachin'
Happy Monday everyone! Oh wait, is it just me that is just starting their work week? Ohhh that's right, this is what my actual Monday looked like...
That was mean, I'm sorry.
Well I'm back at work after a very extended, and very glorious, holiday weekend spent in Virginia Beach with my mama. Thursday I battled the hurricane ridden skies (sarcasm, Arthur only talked a big game) and flew, ahem first class ahem from DFW to Richmond, Va! Hashtag big shot. Hashtag not really. Hashtag only because I used frequent flyer miles. Maybe it is because I generally fly in the morning, but the views from this flight were absolutely breathtaking. And being the fish-out-of-water-hillbilly that I am, I proceeded to take 1,000 pictures of said views.
My mom picked me up in Richmond and we decided to drive straight to Norfolk in an effort to beat Hurricane Arthur. We pulled right into the driveway as our phones started buzzing with tornado warnings. Good timing, huh?
Arthur came and went in the middle of the night. By noon on Friday, we were left with the most perfect weather to celebrate our country, just as our forefathers would have intended us to, with beer, wine and a neighborhood strawberry daiquiri contest.
The next day, we went fishing. And by fishing I mean we stood around like idiots with fishing rods in our hands and bait on our hooks. The fish must have been on vacation for the long holiday weekend. But these weird frog things we kept catching couldn't afford a family vacation, so they just had a staycation and took all the free food off our hooks.
After my 3rd frog/fish hybrid monster, I decided I'd try my luck at catching bloody marys. As I suspected, I had no problem reeling one of those in!
After a long day of catching fish standing around on a boat, we caught the firework show that night on the beach.
My favorite part about visiting the beach is getting out and riding the bikes! We rode about 12 miles each day, not bad huh?
Oh yeah, and there was a beach at the beach too.
Then this genius decided to follow up a vacation by immediately moving to a new apartment.
Smarty pants, I know.
