I girl crush hard, I'm thinking hoping I'm not the only one. Celebrities, fictional characters, singers, reality tv stars, heck even bloggers. As you all know, Miranda Lambert is everything to me. As I was listening to her (and that other random girl that's singing) new song for the 876th time in a row last night, I sat there thinking how cool M is -- yes I call her M -- for writing that song. The story told is killer, and no matter how good of a girl you are, you feel a twinge of jealousy and desire to be the two girls in the story.
Boys dream of being their idols. They dream of being Batman, or Superman, or Troy Aikman, or James Bond. I got to thinking, would I rather be or be best friends with some of my girl crushes? Be the leader or be the sidekick along for the ride? I'll tell you mine if you tell me yours!
Be: As a huge Sex and the City fan, you may be shocked to hear Carrie is most certainly not my favorite character. I think she is a horribly self-centered and self-absorbed person that really treats her friends like crap, then expects the world from them in return. I try to avoid friends like that, like I try to avoid the indoor kiddie playground at the mall. So my vote is BE! (I'll start with Berger please, he had some serious untapped potential, sans post-it.)
What about you? Be or Be Best Friends With?
Be Best Friends With: I could never, ever maintain the coolness that Mila exudes. I would inevitably screw it up. Plus I wouldn't want to be pregnant right now.
What about you? Be or Be Best Friends With?
What about you? Be or Be Best Friends With?
Be: Because, Ryan Reynolds.
What about you? Be or Be Best Friends With?
BE: Um, hello. Can you imagine being this girl's friend? No. No matter how kind, or loyal, or trusting, or funny she may be.... you would have to stand next to that. She is a freak of nature, you may as well be wearing Harry's invisibility cloak for the rest of your life.
What about you? Be or Be Best Friends With?
Be Best Friends With: Fiona Gallagher (Emmy Rossum): Talk about the best partner in crime ever. She has all the makings for a best friend; selfless, loyal, defends what she believes in and up for anything, anytime. She is gorgeous, but not so much where you would feel self-conscious the whole time *cough* Scar Jo *cough*. Just don't make me go to her house...
What about you? Be or Be Best Friends With?
Be: Girlfriend seems very aloof to me. She seems like someone that doesn't really like anyone or anything. I'm not sure it would be very rewarding being her friend. But to be her? Cool in your own world, not caring what anyone else thinks. Sure, sign me up.
What about you? Be or Be Best Friends With?
Be: Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester): As much as I would love to be her friend, I'm not into minding my P's and Q's, walking on eggshells all day every day. One wrong move and you're in hell with Blair playing the roll of the Devil faster than you can say Upper East Side!

So those are some of my girl crushes. Who are yours? And Be or Be Best Friends With?
Oh, and Miranda doesn't need a poll... Be Best Friends With, duh.

Before this Wednesday comes to a close, I've got Britt taking over from One&20! This isn't actually her first rodeo on VTIM! For her sophomore appearance, Britt has created one a my favorite things in the world, a drinking game! Plus, sounds like we have very similar memorial day weekend plans...
hey, hey, guys! i'm britt and i blog over at one&20!
whenever i have a long weekend, i like to snuggle up on the couch for some marathon movie-watching, and this upcoming one is no exception. one of my favorite things to do is watch an entire series (like all of the batman, spider-man, or transformer movies) since i have the time to really jump into the story uninterrupted. yeah, i like boy movies. i'm all about 'em.
my memorial day weekend pick? the lord of the rings trilogy. and if you're anything like me (read: a geek), you absolutely won't need alcohol to make watching lotr the best part of the weekend. but if you're like the rest of the world stuck watching the fellowship of the ring with your nerdy boyfriend or girlfriend in hopes of scoring later on, grab a bottle. this one is for you.
take a drink when:

- the thoroughly british narrator refuses to use contractions when she could've (ha)
- pippin took ruins a well laid-out plan.
- the camera closes up on legolas because the appropriate thing to do when you see an attractive man is to take a swig and lust from afar.
take 2 when:
- gimli's short-man complex surfaces.
- aragorn shuffles around like a hipster determined to be nothing like his father.
- frodo gets hurt but somehow makes it out alive (hint: always).
chug it when:
- you realize you have to read subtitles in a non-foreign film.
- the camera closes up on an orc. because you won't want to remember you saw one the next day.
