Dr. Martens Original 1460s c/o online shoes // Leggings c/o Yummie by Heather Thomson // The rest is just forever 21, I'm sure you don't need links to that. |
My favorite thing about being a lifestyle blogger is that you get to dabble in every different category of blogging. You can post recipes (I never will, I'm pretty sure everyone already knows that you have to stir the lean cuisine halfway through) you can show off graphic design, you can post home inspiration, you can make us laugh, you can do whatever you want! Lifestyle blogging is just so great because you have no niche.
I got to play fashion blogger for a few different posts coming up in the next couple of weeks, and lets just say I had a dang blast. Will it become a regular thing on here, nope. Was it difficult, yup. Was it embarrassing to do in public, yup. Do I bow down to all those fashion bloggers out there? I sure do.
Lifestyle bloggers can come up with a post idea, dig through old photos on their camera roll that fit the theme of the post and type their little hearts out all with a glass of wine in hand. It is time consuming, but doesn't require the preparation of getting out of the house and striking a pose in a well thought out outfit.
But I gotta admit, it was pretty fun once my nerves and self-consciousness subsided!

Although I may not be labeled as a fashion blogger, like, ever. I'm still a girl who loves clothes and shoes. Do you guys remember the classic Dr. Martens original 1460s? They have been around forever and celebrities like Jessica Alba has been seen repeatedly rocking these statement boots all over the City of Angels. I don't know about you, but if J is doing it, then I want to do it too! Online Shoes stocks the Dr. Martens at a great price, and there are tons of color options to choose from! Let's be real here, I just like them because they make me look like a bad ass! Ok, maybe not but they are a pretty killer pair of boots!
I never owned a pair even in high school when everyone did... I just don't think I can pull it off, but oh you do!
ReplyDeleteOMG these pics turned out so freaking cute sarah!!!!!! i seriously love them. you look so cute.
ReplyDeleteThe thought if fashion blogging scares the crap out of me! hah. I still don't get how they get out of bed, look fabulous, take all the pictures outside, and still make it to work on time. There must be a secret I don't know :)
ReplyDeleteGreat post, girl! Even though these shoes have been in for a long time, I'm just now starting to really want a pair.

ReplyDeleteGirllll look at you being a fashion blogger and stuff! I tried my first "shoot" this weekend and it really was hard... and awkward. I don't know how the fashion bloggers make it look so effortless and perfect! Yours came out good though! Did you shoot your pics w/ a tripod or get someone to do it?
ReplyDeleteThe pictures came out great! Those boots take me back to Jr High and High school. Classics never go out of style!
ReplyDeleteI love that they haven't ever really gone out of style. And you look fab!
ReplyDeleteI love those boots! They look great on you, but I could never pull those off!

ReplyDeleteFirst of all, you look amazing! And second, that's why I love lifestyle blogging. I can write about whatever randomness pops into my brain. No limits!
ReplyDeleteThose boots were made...for me to l-o-v-e...for realz.
ReplyDeleteClassic! Reminds me of BH 90210.
ReplyDeleteLove the photos ! I could never pose for the camera without being super awkward!
ReplyDeleteYou're so right about the freedom to be totally random in lifestyle blogging vs. having a niche. I recently dug up my high school year book for some inspiration. It's always fun to take a trip down memory lane. Love those boots on you, too. I never had an Doc Marten combat boots, but I've been digging the look lately with black tights and a not too dressy of a dress.

ReplyDeleteFashion blogger looks really good on you!!! You should do this more often ;-) I have my doc Marten's for 15 years!!! And they still rock!
ReplyDeleteYou did good! Do you have a timer on your camera or one of those clickers? Or does someone take your photos for you!?
ReplyDeleteI love Dr. Martens! I had a pair when I was younger and wore them with my baby doll dresses in grade school! I actually always thought they were called Doc Martens. Ha.. the things you learn!!
Totally getting a pair this year. I've been waiting since my Junior year of high school a million years ago to do so. Love the pictures too.
ReplyDeleteAh you look adorable, and that bird is amazing!! You definitely get an A+ on the fashion blogging page.
ReplyDeleteI am beyond jealous you got a free pair of Docs. I want!
ReplyDeleteLove those Dr. Martens! I have a pair of DM sandals from high school and they still look great (15-20 years old), but have that nice worn in feel :) I might need to pick up a pair of boots after reading this post :)
ReplyDeleteYou are a WAY better fashion blogger than I am!! Love all of these pictures, you're a natural! But don't quit your lifestyle blog, you're still one of the funniest bloggers ever :-)
