1. The Right Nail Polish Color
I can go to the nail salon prepared with all sorts of polish color names that I've seen on Pinterest or Instagram, then I get there and realize I've come equipped with Essie polish color names, but the nail salon I picked only carries OPI.
I stand there staring at the 102934 different polish colors they offer, while the nail tech taps her foot waiting for me to hurry up and pick one. They all look like the same color red to me, with a few random mauve polishes thrown in there. I panic and end up choosing Lincoln Park After Dark for the 14th week in a row, because I once read in an US Weekly that someone left on the American Airlines flight before me, that it was a cool color.
2. A red lip that doesn't look ridiculous on me
I always end up looking like Khloe Kardashian. For the record, I do not like Chloe Kardashian, and I do not think she is attractive and I am not meaning this as a compliment to me. I look like I have way too much makeup on, and like I am trying to cover up the fact that I am actually a dude.
3. The perfect combination of bangles
My friend Magen is the bangle wearing queen. She wears about a billion at a time and just looks so dang fashionable with them on! I'll try and throw a watch and two bracelets on to start the "arm party" and people ask me, "Why do you have so many bracelets on?" rather than complimenting how effortlessly chic my arm party pairing is. Argh.
4. Foundation
Me at Sephora:
Find Sephora brand makeup section.
Find foundation area.
Stare at the foundations, trying to figure out if I need powder, liquid, concealer, BB cream.... the heck is the difference??
Pick whichever is the cheapest.
Pick whichever color is all the way to the left. I'm so pale, I turn lavender at times.
That is surely not how you're supposed to pick foundation. But I always get anxious asking for help, like I'm some pre-teen buying makeup for the first time. I'm 26, I should know this stuff.
5. Great Jeans
I know I've mentioned this before, but I've got a big ole booty. Jeans are near impossible to find. Everyone's solution is to buy jeans that fit through the hips and butt, then get the rest tailored. Oh, ok. I'm going to go get a pair of $21 Old Navy jeans tailored. Right. What is this, a wedding dress? No, I'm not going to the tailor.
6. Tall boots that fit
I'm not giant, what gives? Even on my post a couple of weeks ago, most of you agreed with me that you have such a hard time finding boots to fit. I just want to wear my hunter boots and not have dunlap. That ain't right.
7. Leggings
Hands down the most frustrating thing that I can't find are leggings. What I keep finding: Black jeans, tights (tights are NOT leggings), yoga pants, leggings that fall down when you walk 3 feet forward, leggings that fade after just one wash. Where do you guys find leggings like the picture above?
So, help a sister out! Gimmie all your tips on finding all 7 of these items!
