Win: Friday I jetted out of work as that clock ticked 5pm, started blasting Miranda lambert in the car and scurried home to change clothes and put my new cowboy boots on.
I made myself a jack and diet and began ironing my dress so it wasn't full of wrinkles....
What you've never done that before? Well, I'm quite the modern housewife. I don't need actual irons when I have a curling iron that works just fine!
Then I jetted off to see my BFF Miranda. I bought this light up bracelet just to be sure that I wasted spent all of my hard earned dollars on things I totally couldn't live without. Then I patiently waited for Miranda while Dierks Bentley performed.
And when she took the stage, it was glorious. GLORIOUS I tell you. I also realized that concert pictures are much like firework pictures, all terrible. I wish I had images that better showed how amazing Miranda was in concert.... but this is all I got. It looks like I was in the nosebleeds, but really my tickets I got off Stubhub were fabulous!!
Loss(es): Saturday was a down day. I woke up and got dressed to go the the Tennessee alum watch party which is about 30 minutes from my apartment all the way out in Frisco. We all screamed and yelled and cheering for the first 5 minutes of the game. Then... crickets.....
Tennessee got MURDERED BRUTALLY MURDERED in broad daylight by a bunch of highlighters. It was really really sad. I then went home and cried myself to sleep. Oh, then the cowboys got got beat the next day too. And then my fantasy team got beat by Alex.
Now I'm never going to watch football ever again. Hah, jk...lol...lylas.
The good news is tomorrow I'm off to a work trip in Louisville and won't be back until Thursday night. I think only two days in the office will make for a fabulous work week! Anyone have any suggestions for restaurants in Louisville??
So, I knew not to expect much out of the Oregon game. I mean, we're rebuilding. They're #2. blah blah blah.
ReplyDeleteI even said to my boyfriend, "I know we would need a miracle to win, but honestly, if we just don't turn out to be their Austin-Peay, I'll be happy."
And then we were destroyed. Sigh.
How long does it take to iron a dress with a curling iron?
ReplyDeleteIroning a dress with a curling iron? Genuis!
ReplyDeleteSorry for your football losses. I'm 0-2 in one fantasy league and 2-0 in the other, go figure. Miranda is definitely a win, though!!! LOVE HER. Also, that first picture with the jack bottle is artsy and cool! Have fun on your work trip!
ReplyDeleteMiranda is amazing...JUST AMAZING!
ReplyDeleteProof on Main! Or anything on 4th Street! Have fun, you will be so close to Floyd and I!!
ReplyDeleteAt least you had an amazing time at Miranda! And yay for you being in my town for a few days!!! Definitely hit up Doc Crow's. It's right next to the KFC Yum Center downtown!
ReplyDeleteCute boots!
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous! I LOVE Miranda!!! Although, I do love Blake quite a bit more...hope she doesn't mind.
ReplyDeleteI use my straightener to iron my clothes all the time.
ReplyDeletei feel like you didn't even tell me you were leaving. rude. i love how concert pictures turn out. said no one ever.
ReplyDeletebrilliant iron master, you are.
ReplyDeleteThis will sound ridiculous, but the first thing I thought when I saw the first picture was, "her dress is wrinkled." I love that you addressed that immediately. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd Miranda - amazing concert! When she was in WV, she yelled at some guy in the audience for talking during "House That Built Me." I kind of love her.
yellllllllll O :)
ReplyDeleteAwww.. well let's focus on the win! Nice boots first off! I know what you mean about concert pictures..! No matter what you do.. the pictures never do the experience any justice! We saw Paul McCartney in concert last November and our pictures were sad...but that was because our seats WERE brutal. We were in Row X... yup, pretty close to the cement wall..as faaaaar back as you can get...! STILL a crazy, incredible experience though!
ReplyDeleteInsanely jealous that you saw Miranda & Dierks this weekend. I've seen her twice and she never disappoints!
ReplyDeleteOkay here's your question (and excuse the fact that I know nothing about football and still find your blog funny): what the hell is a three-point conversion in football? Or is it a two-point conversion? I don't understand how it works. But I live in Texas and probably should understand all the rules of football. (Don't worry, I finally had someone explain to me what a first down was ... when I was in college.)
ReplyDeleteDid you ever see the first episode of The Hills? LC totally ironed her skirt with a flat iron.
ReplyDeleteso don't kill me but I had no idea who Miranda Lambert was until this post. I just googled her and had Wiki educate me about her musical life lol.
ReplyDeleteOkay, here's my question: You have to go back to college and you're not allowed to go back to your old alma mater. Where would you go and what would you study? xx
ReplyDeleteSo my question is how is the best way to spruce up your blog design!
ReplyDeleteSo I mighta fell in love for a second after that first picture.
ReplyDeleteIt sucks when your real football team and your fantasy team tank on the same weekend. And your school. But it beats the hell out of playing fantasy hockey or racing.
Bearno's Pizza, Lynns Paradise Cafe, and King Fish (I got the chicken, because I don't eat seafood)
ReplyDeleteYeah! I just saw the Miranda/Dierks concert in Chicago a few weeks ago. Sorry about your teams... we had a real nail biter between the Bears and Minnesota yesterday and were able to come out on top!
ReplyDeleteQuestion- Do you watch The League? If not you should. It's hilarious.
What's the scariest thing to ever happen to you?

I went to Louisville for a work convention in July...and I didn't enjoy it much. It was a pretty dirty city (where we were). I did venture out a few blocks from my hotel and eat at Taco Punk. It was really laid back but they also had some antique and shabby chic shops and boutiques in the area. Might be worth checking out. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd then you request coffee in bed the next morning... ;) To say I'm not jealous of your fab cowgirl kinda night would make me a liar.
ReplyDeleteSo jealous you got to see Miranda Lambert in concert! I worship that woman and I love her stuff with the Pistol Annies. And it's funny you mention ironing your dress with a curling iron--I always do touch-ups with my straight-iron! It's just so much quicker.
ReplyDeleteGreat minds think alike! I use my flat-iron to iron my clothes way more the I use an iron! I honestly don't remember the last time I used an actual iron! My sister in law was at that same concert! She said it was awesome!
ReplyDeleteHere's a Q for a Techie Lady like yourself: How do I put a "Subscribe by Email" Option on my Blog Smarty Pants?

Miranda Lambert. I woman after my own heart! Looks like you had fun!
ReplyDeleteEveryone and their momma was at Miranda's concert, I was not. So jealous! Even though the Cowboys lost, Dez racked up some serious FF points for me - Thanks DEZ!
ReplyDeleteI'M SO JEALOUS! I love both Miranda and Dierks. I want to see them so bad. Jealous times infinity TIMES infinity.
ReplyDeleteOregonian here (sorry) but I don't watch football so I'm a neutral party :)
ReplyDeleteI would love to see Miranda in concert, I bet she puts on a great show!!!
Glad you had fun with ya girl Miranda! You +her + JackD = good times! Let's not talk about the Oregon game...GAG!
ReplyDeleteMy ? is how did you end up at UT for college?
"Tennessee got MURDERED in broad daylight by a bunch of highlighters." <-- You are hysterical. But I'm not laughing about your team losing. Because I know how much that sucks. RIP Panthers and Fantasy team.
ReplyDeleteWhere did your interest in sports start? :)
